Alan Brazulis sentenced to 15 years for DUI crash in Arvada that killed passenger, injured family of 4
A man who was involved in a fatal crash in 2020 was sentenced to 15 years in prison earlier this month after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide and vehicular assault in Jefferson County Court, according to a Thursday news release.
Alan Brazulis was traveling eastbound on Oberon Road in Arvada on July 26 when he lost control of his vehicle and went westbound. He crashed into another vehicle carrying a family of four, including two children.
Brazulis’s passenger, Griffin Korosec, was killed in the crash, while the family in the other vehicle was injured.
Brazulis tested positive for being under the influence of marijuana and registered a blood-alcohol content level of .261, more than triple the legal limit, at the time of the crash. Brazulis was facing five charges related to the fatal crash, but pleaded guilty to two of them.
